There are many trends in colorful makeup. Every week, a new trend emerges in colorful eye makeup. The peacock eye makeup looks are the newest. It involves mixing beautiful shades of purples, greens and blues together to create an appearance that resembles–you guessed right–the colors found in a feather. Pique your interest? This article will tell you everything you need to know about the trend in peacock eye makeup, and how to achieve it yourself.

WHAT IS PEACOCK EYE MAKINGUP?

Peacock eye makeup, as the name suggests, is inspired by feathers from peacocks. Think eye shadows in deep blues and purples with dark green accents. The peacock’s eye makeup looks are similar to the feathers of different birds. The peacock’s eye makeup look can be customized to suit your mood. The peacock eye makeup looks can include sea blues and emerald greens as well as hints of neon green. Remember: The goal is to imitate the beautiful, colorful feathers found in a peacock’s eye.

HOW TO CREATE A PEECOCK EYE MAKEUP LOOOK

Although there are many variations in the colors of peacock feathers, the overall color scheme is blues and purples with hints green. This is the same color scheme that our tutorial for peacock eye makeup will use. This eye makeup trend can be dramatic so it requires more than a few steps. It’s worth trying if you enjoy having fun with makeup as much as us! Here are some tips to achieve the look.

STEP 1: PRIME YO LIDS

You want your peacock eye to last as long as you can. After applying eye shadow primer to your entire upper eyelid you can continue.

STEP 2 – LAY YOUR BASE DOWN

After priming, it’s time to apply the color. Apply a little bit of L’Oreal Paris Perpetual Purple 24HR Eye Shadow to your entire eyelid. Make sure you extend your eyelashes upwards until your eyebrow bone. This is a dramatic look! Next, use a tapered brush to apply the same shade along the lower lash line.

STEP 3 – APPLY THE ACCENT SHADE

To create a two-toned look, apply another, darker shade of purple. Apply the L’Oreal Paris 24HR Eyeshadow in Purple Priority to the outer corner. Do not extend the shadow too far upwards, but keep it focused on your upper eyelids.

STEP 4 – APPLY BLUE HUES

Now it’s time for the accent colors. The L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Pocket Eye Shadow in Avant Garde Azure has all the shades you need. Begin by applying the blue shade in your upper right corner. Next, apply a light coat to the middle of your upper eyes. While you want to keep your application light, some purple should still be visible underneath. Next, use your tapered eyeshadow brush to apply the bright blue shade of the palette’s lower right corner onto your outer corner of lower lash line. Layer it partially on top of the purple that you have applied earlier.

STEP 5 – APPLY MASCARA

You’ll be happy to know that you don’t need any eyeliner after all the eyeshadow work. It would be a mistake to conceal the beautiful eye shadow that you just applied. You shouldn’t! Do it instead!

Editor’s Note: You can’t live without eyeliner. You can bring everything together with the L’Oreal Paris Pro-Last Waterproof 24HR Pencil eyeliner in Forest Green.

STEP 6: FILL YOUR BROWS

If you don’t pair your bold eye makeup with strong brows, it won’t deliver. Get on it! L’Oreal Paris Unbelievabrow Longwear waterproof Brow Gel will give you a boost. It can be used to define and fill in your arches.
