We love taking inspiration from the past when it comes to makeup trends. The beauty industry is familiar with 80s makeup and 90s makeup. But, the beauty world doesn’t need to be afraid of blast-from-the past makeup looks. What is the next throwback make-up trend ? 2000s makeup! Many makeup looks that were inspired by pop stars and movies are making a comeback. Are you ready to go back in time and update some of your favorite looks? Below are 10 nostalgic-inducing makeup looks that you can bring back from the 2000s.

2000S MAKEUP LOOOK #1: PURPLE EAR SHADOW

You want to try something different than the standard neutral shades. This is your perfect excuse to try a different kind of strong>eyeshadow/strong> shades. Purple eyeshadow was a popular choice in 2000s. Now it is one of the most prominent makeup trends .

Step #1: Prime your eyes. Apply an eyeshadow primer before you reach for your purple eyeshadow. This will make your purple pop and increase its longevity. Are you lacking an eye primer? You can use concealer or foundation to do the trick.

Step 2: Color your lids. Use your favorite purple color. This look is a favorite of ours: L’Oreal Paris Infallible 24-HR Eye Shadow in Perpetual Purple

Step 3: Blend your crease. Your blending skills may have been poor back in 2002. However, today you know better than leaving harsh lines. Use a matte shadow such as the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow In Mix and Matte to avoid this. A fluffy blending brush is also helpful for softening the line where the purple shadow meets the crease.

Step #4: Coat your lashes. Apply a few coats L’Oreal Paris Unlimited Lash Lifting & Lengthening Washable Mascara Blackest Black to complete your purple eyeshadow look.

2000S MAKEUP LOOK #2 – GLOSSY LIPIPS

Another trend from 2000s that is making waves in 2019 is ‘glossy lips’. Glossy lips Matte lipsticks will be pushed to the side this year, while glosses with high shine are the spotlight.

Step 1: Moisturize your lips. Glossy lips require hydrated and moisturized lips. Apply a conditioning lipstick before you reach for the gloss.

Step 2: Make it shiny. Use a long-lasting gloss like the L’Oreal Paris Infallible8 HR Le Gloss. Hello, shine!

Step 3: Highlight. To make your lips shine, apply a little highlighter like the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Shimmerista Powder to the center of your bottom lobe and cupid’s bow.

2000S MAKEUP LOOOK #3: COLORFUL EARLINERS

Tired of wearing black eyeliner everyday? single. day? We are too. That’s why colored pencil eyeliner has returned to the forefront of fashion. For an eye-catching look, all you need to do is choose a color of the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Waterproof, Up To 24HR Pencileyeliner and apply it wherever you like. Want to know more? A pop of color along the lower lashline is a great idea!

2000S MAKEUP LOOOK #4: ROSY CHEESES

How about your makeup? In case you didn’t know, rosy cheeks was all the rage during the 2000s. You don’t have to be light with your blush. Instead, choose a rosy shade that will give you noticeable (but not too obvious) pinky cheeks, such as the L’Oreal Paris True Match Blush Rosy Outlook.

2000S MAKEUP LOOK #5 – LIP LINER

The prominent lipliner was a big trend in 2000s. But, we are changing this trend just a little. We don’t recommend too stark a contrast between your lipstick and your lipliner. Here are some suggestions.

Step #1: Line your lips. Choose a shade that is one to two shades darker then your lipstick. This tutorial uses the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lip Liner, in Au Naturale. Line slightly outside of your natural lip.

Step 2: Fill in your pout with the L’Oreal Paris Rouge Signature Matte Lipstick in I Create. Pucker up!

2000S MAKEUP LOO #6: FROSTED LIPIPS

There’s a good chance that your first lipstick was a pale, frosty pink shade when you were a teenager or tween in the 2000s. We hope you have forgotten about that old lipstick. But frosted lip colors are back. They might not look the same as you remember. Instead of frosted lips all over, you can give the 2000s makeup look an update by applying your frosted lipstick to only the center of your lips. This will give you the appearance of full lips.

2000S MAKEUP #7: BLUE EYESHADOW

Can you see that the 2000s were all about colors? Blue was another popular color for the lids. Blue eyeshadow is back in 2019 and it’s here to stay. You can give it a shot by reading our article How To Wear Blue Eyeshadows and Eye Makeup.

2000S MAKEUP #8: GLOWING SSKIN

We will always love glowing, radiant skin. Face makeup in the 2000s was simple and youthful. This can be refreshing if you are used to contouring and strobing every single day in 2019.

Step 1: Apply foundation. For glowing skin, use a foundation that has a radiant finish like the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro–Glow Foundation. Use the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Foundation Blender to buff it all out.

Step 2: Add some shimmer. Apply a glowy highlighter like the L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glow Amour Glow Enhancing Drops to boost your skin’s dewy appearance. Apply it to your cheekbones and cupid’s bow.

Step 3: Apply your makeup. Setting spray is a must if you want your makeup to last the day. The L’Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Shimmer & Glow Dest Mist will give all your makeup a radiant glow and increase the longevity of your makeup. All-over glow: Say hello!

2000S MAKEUP LOOK #9 – BRICK RED LIPS

Focus on your lips and not the town. Many women of the 2000s had a brick-red lip color, instead of glossy or frosted lips. Can you imagine it? Brick red lips, low-rise jeans and a silk camisole blouse. Talk about nostalgic! The ensemble is too good to pass up! We suggest the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Lipcolor in Divine Wine for a complete look.

2000S MAKEUP #10: SHIMMERY WHITES LIDS

Last but not the least, shimmery white eyes are not exempt! It’s easy to recreate this look in makeup, and it’s not hard!

Step 1: Prime your lids. Use an eye primer on your lids to prepare for eyeshadow.

Step 2: Grab your shadow. To coat your lids, use a shimmery white shadow like the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow In Petite Perle. To diffuse any lines, use a fluffy brush and apply a nude matte color to your crease.

Step 3: Apply mascara. You’ll need to apply mascara to complete your shimmery, white eyeshadow look. To do this, reach for the L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Mascara.
